Team Fram is passionate about adventuring and the outdoors. We want to encourage everyone to challenge themselves and pursue their own dreams, be it on micro-adventures or huge expeditions.
We actively support a number of charities and we encourage you to consider donating to one of these special causes.
The UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for refugees, forcibly displaced communities and stateless people. Both Lauren and Thorsten share the ideals that every person has a right to seek a better future for themselves and their families, a right to a nationality and a home, and humane treatment. Fridjof Nansen championed these ideals when he became the first High Commissioner for Refugees of the newly formed League of Nations in 1920. A hundred years later, they are more relevant than ever. We encourage everyone to support the various charity projects spearheaded by the UNHCR.
My Great Escape supports survivors of Domestic Abuse to conquer mountains, literally and figuratively. They believe that through physical challenge and the beauty of nature, survivors can heal, build confidence and self-esteem. Lauren has been a supporter of My Great Escape since it was founded and now serves as a trustee and adventure leader. She’s also fundraised for them, to make sure that there are no financial barriers to survivors.
Mountain rescue services in various countries provide swift and capable aid should you get into an emergency on a mountain tour. In large parts they rely on volunteer work and donations to cover their operating expenses. Even experienced adventures can get into unforeseen circumstances. Knowing if all goes wrong, there are people willing to risk their lives to help us at any time and in any weather lets you focus on what’s most important: enjoying the trip. Please consider supporting mountain rescue services in the areas where you are active outdoors.
